While it may be true that 87% of people who quote statistics are dead boring, there are a couple of numbers worth remembering.
Your child is xx% less likely to be injured in a car accident if seated in the back. *
196 ** children in the U.S. have been killed by their front seat airbag (and 000’s more severely injured.) Also 30 adult women under 5’ tall have also been killed by passenger side airbags.
Consider, if an adult is thrown forward in an accident, the airbag will support their chest area. For a child in that seat, their head and neck take the brunt of the explosive power of the airbag. With predictably poor results. And it doesn’t take a high speed crash to set off an airbag.
Car manufacturers all recommend a minimum age of 12 to sit in the front.
Why not make a rule in your car – primary school in the back, high school in the front. (This may be safer on a couple of levels!)
At Pearce’s we have installed over 70,000 seats. We know seats. We sell seats. We rent seats. We fit seats. Best of all, we love what we do. Come and see us, we know what we’re talking about.
